This policy explains how VoltEdge handles information on voltedge4u.com. The short version: most calculators run only in your browser; the Scenario Passport saves only when you choose to save it; Ask VoltEdge can be used without an email; and answer notification and newsletter updates are separate, optional choices.
Information you choose to submit
Ask VoltEdge
The Ask VoltEdge form collects the question you enter. It also sends the search phrase that led to the form, the page path, a submission or consent timestamp, the two optional email-choice values, and a hidden anti-spam field. You can submit a question without an email address. If you enter an email but do not select either email choice, the page clears that email before submitting the form.
If you select answer notification, the email may be used to contact you about that question. If you separately select VoltEdge updates, the email may be used for newsletter or guide updates. Choosing one does not choose the other. VoltEdge may use an anonymized version of a submitted question to decide what to research or publish, but will not intentionally publish the submitted email address.
Please do not put passwords, payment information, account numbers, VINs, precise addresses, medical information, or other sensitive personal information in a question.
Newsletter signup
The newsletter form collects the email address you enter, the page path, a timestamp, and a hidden anti-spam field. An accepted form submission records the request; it does not by itself guarantee a reply or newsletter delivery. Delivery depends on the email workflow being active.
Information that stays on your device
Smart Search
Smart Search runs in your browser. To make repeated searches more useful on the same device, it stores only the identifiers of guides you clicked and a limited click count. It does not store your search words in that browser record. The record stays in your browser’s local storage and expires after up to 180 days from the most recent saved click. It is not sent to VoltEdge by the search feature.
Scenario Passport
The Scenario Passport is browser-only and saves nothing unless you select Save on this device. A saved copy contains the planning selections entered into the tool and an expiration time. It stays in local storage on that device for up to 180 days. You can clear it with the tool’s Clear saved copy button or by clearing site data in your browser.
Export creates a JSON file on your device. Import reads the file in your browser. VoltEdge does not receive the saved, exported, or imported Scenario Passport through those features. Anyone who can access an exported file can read it, so store or share it accordingly.
Other calculators
The charging-cost, panel-conversation, Blueprint, Quote Decoder, portable-charger estimator, power-station picker, and backup-decision picker calculations run in the browser. The current versions do not transmit calculator inputs to VoltEdge. If a future feature begins sending inputs off the device, this policy and the feature notice must be updated before that collection is enabled.
Hosting and form processing
VoltEdge is hosted on Netlify. When you request a page or submit a form, hosting and security infrastructure may process connection and request data such as IP address, browser or user-agent information, requested URL, timestamp, and anti-abuse signals. VoltEdge’s current page code does not load a dedicated third-party analytics script, but hosting-level operational data may still exist.
Ask VoltEdge and newsletter submissions are sent to the site’s Netlify form endpoint when form handling is enabled. Netlify may store the submission in the site account and process it under the Netlify Privacy Statement. Inbox notifications and any later newsletter or reply service are separate configurations. VoltEdge will update this page if another provider begins processing these submissions.
How information is used
Submitted information may be used to receive and answer questions, plan useful content, administer requested email updates, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the site, comply with applicable obligations, and protect the site and its users. VoltEdge does not sell or rent the personal information submitted through these forms.
Retention, deletion, and email choices
VoltEdge keeps form submissions only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose submitted, site security, recordkeeping, or applicable obligations. Hosting-provider logs, backups, and abuse records may follow the provider’s own retention rules. To request access to or deletion of a form submission, email voltedgereview@gmail.com from the address involved when possible and include enough context to locate the submission.
Newsletter messages should provide an unsubscribe method once delivery is active. You may also request removal at the contact address above. Answer notification for one question is separate from consent to receive general VoltEdge updates.
Cookies, local storage, and affiliate links
VoltEdge uses browser local storage for the optional Scenario Passport and the on-device Smart Search click record described above. Affiliate merchants or networks may place cookies or use similar technologies after you follow an affiliate link to their site so a purchase can be attributed. Those third parties control their own technologies and policies.
